In 1998, the five friends went to pay musical tribute to the just deceased Kyuss. Reproducing the creative work of honoured Rock‘n Roll heroes went well until 2006, when, despite the excessive
live shows they were already known for, things became a bit odd. Starting to write own material was kind of a resurrection, Porn To Hula went to become a „real“ thing, with only the excessive live shows still being elementary.
"If you take a look at Porn To Hula, they remind you of typical Rednecks, who are the American counterpart to Austrian Proles. That is, if you left aside the VW and added some homemade booze and weapons." (
music-news.at). As you'll notice immediately they aren't taking themselves too seriously. In fact the outfits and presentation are sheer self-mockery. A fact that will become even more obvious while attending a PTH-show. The band dresses up differently in weird costumes all the time and not only therefore impersonates an extravagant and odd bird, totally worth experiencing.
